I just picked up a 89 IROC. One of the problems is the Speedo and Tach do not work. I plan on just trashing the factory gauges and installing some from the aftermarket. The Speedo is mechanical, though.

Can I just swap out to an electric speedo sending unit and get an aftermarket electric Speedo?

I plan on using the factory bezel and keep the Tach, speedo, Oil, Gas, and temp on the dash. I'll get a single A pillar gauge pod for the Volts.
