Front tire width

Im currently running 17x9.5 in the front and back. I was wondering if 9.5in is too big for the front because sometimes my powersteering struggles. Is there a more powerful powersteering unit i could buy, or are my tires just too wide for the front?

9.5" is pretty common for an aftermarket wheel on an f-body. You're GOING to feel a little more resistance with the added contact patch. If the resistance you feel in the steering wheel is too much, I'd take a look at the steering rack and see if there's any excessive bypassing going on inside.
