FMV sticker location?

I thought it was in the door but mine isn't there. This could be a problem as this car is going to be shipped to America in January. Without this label from FMV it could delay me. So in case I just don't know where it's at, where is yours?

Re: FMV sticker location?

Have to ask.. no help using search.. What is a 'FMV' sticker ? I'm guessing 'Fair Market Value' but never heard of that sticker in an F-Body. Is it country specific ?

Federal motor vehicle safety standards. Usually there's a plaque or sticker somewhere on the vehicle. I found stickers on the outer most part of my driver doors. Maybe you can check yours for me? Open the door and look on the end of the door where it would normally close over the latch to keep the door shut. Let me know what you find?

Re: FMV sticker location?

On my '94 it's right there on the drivers door, 4 X 2 inch top sticker above all the Tire Loading sticker. Mfg by GM Canada .. Date ... GAWR front & rear axle loads in LB & KG ... Then says This Vehicle conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards including bumpers, theft deterrent etc.. .. Also has the car VIN number at the bottom I assume a '93 is the same since rule went into effect in 1969 !! Was the car manufactured for export..maybe it may not have all the US standards.. that's just a thought . Here is some import info , you probably may already be aware of.. https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/det...r-into-the-u.s.

Re: FMV sticker location?

May be time consuming , you can go to this site RPO Codes.com- GM option codes,GM rpo codes,General Motors options then select 0-4 codes then use the find function on your browser to search the word 'export' you will find RPO code 1C1 for export vehicle, then look at your RPO codes on the glove box and see if you have that code. Repeat for 5-9, N-S,T-Z to find all export RPO codes and see which ones may be on your vehicle, EG: running light mods, turn signal colors, unleaded waver, instrumentation, and so on ...If you have any , then they must be modified in order to import and get a valid sticker to register it.. May be a better way to do it by calling GM, or starting with a dealer service dept. What country is the car in ?
