firebird headlight problem
firebird headlight problem
1995 T/A
It goes up and down, however when it goes down, it goes down all the way, but the motor sounds like its still trying to put the head light down. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to stop making noise. Is this an adjustment i can make so it can stop trying to shut the headlight when it shuts? Or do i have to replace the motor?

The "quick fix" on that last page works well. I have done it several times. However, they will continue to go bad so I recommend just biting the bullett and getting the metal gears that are listed on that page. You are going to have to do it at some point anyway so save yourself the trouble of having to tear the gears apart again and just buy them now. I put them in a year or 2 ago and haven't had to worry about them since. Plus, the guy who runs that site is awesome to work with.

You can only do the free fix once on each side because all you do is rotate the gear 180* so if you haven't done that yet then it's worth doing, but next time you will need a new gear and might as well get the metal one and never worry about it again.
I have done the free fix to both sides, so I know next time it happens I need to get new gears...
