Firebird headlight making "grinding" noise.
I am having trouble with the driver`s side headlight on my Firehawk. It opens and closes like it normally would, and to its normal position. But when they close, the driver`s side makes a loud grinding sound, like it is still trying to close. Anyone see this before? I can`t see anything obvious, and the headlights operate normally otherwise.
Re: Firebird headlight making "grinding" noise.
The gears on those headlights are notoriously fragile. I've heard that you can replace the plastic ones with better aftermarket brass ones. Probably what you're hearing are the gears stripping - just my thought.

dont know about that. My 95 has 88,000 miles and has just started that. My other firebirds I use the GM ones, figure that it will be another 80k miles before they go out again.

I wouldn't break out your wallet quite yet.
I'd do the FREE fix on Brent's site and use the extra time gained to save up for his replacement gears.
Look for
