Re: it finally happened...

I have an ebay motor in the pass side and a new ACI motor from Advance in the drivers... The ebay motor is still working, the one from Advance costs double but it's stronger and has a lifetime warranty.

Re: it finally happened...

It's riveted on, unless it's been changed before. New motors come with three small bolts/nuts. Not too hard to change them, I used shoebox's guide at http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html Get a motor from a local parts store with a lifetime warranty - and never pay for one again.

Re: it finally happened...

get one from autozone or anywhere local with a lifetime warranty, so when it goes again you can get a new one withotu shipping it. Also, the first time is the hardest, once its removed and bolted instead of rivited, its a 15 min job, check out shoebox's site, best on the net

Re: it finally happened...

Knock on wood is right, my passenger side bit the dust just after 3 years, and I only have 23K on the car now.

In my old Camaro I blew out the Drivers Side and got one from Autozone. 40 Bucks and Lifetiem Warranty, cant beat it in my opinion.

Re: it finally happened...

For window motors, I feel the only real factors are how often you used them, and how long they've been in, not how many miles the car has.

Fortunately, I haven't had to replace either of mine yet, an 02 Z28.

Re: it finally happened...

I've had to replace my driver-side window. I wound up checking out sites like: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...61&catalogid=0

I think my passenger-side window is starting to go. :\
