fan shrouds with WP118HD

guys,

i dont want to do any cutting or modifications to the fan shrouds as mentioned in many threads in order to install the meziere WP118HD electric water pump.

i would like to know where should the modification be done and if anyone has a picture to help me out.

thanks

one more question.. should i install the pump then the fans back on.. or leave the electric pump last then tight it on?

Re: fan shrouds with WP118HD

You have to cut the upper left corner of the fan shroud on the passenger side fan. I had to do it even with the wp118 (non-hd) pump.

I just replaced the pump after getting over 30k miles out of it this past weekend. I removed the plastic piece on the core support holding the fans, etc up, and then removed the four bolts that go into the passenger side fan. The fan can then be removed from the bottom of the car to get access for the water pump. Then remove and replace the water pump, put the fan back in, and fill radiator with antifreeze (it needs to be drained to do the mod).

Thanks for the info, will be working on it tonight!
