fan only blowing out defrost? / radio question
fan only blowing out defrost? / radio question
I have a 95 T/A
I think this is vacuum related, since at one point I replaced the "T" check valve thing right near the passenger compartment on the passenger side,
however, it now does the same thing and I replaced it again, still does it. any other places I should start looking to figure out what problem is?
Thanks in advance!
Also, on an unrelated note, my radio does not pick up radio very good. It will ocasionally pick it up if I jiggle something near the antenna, but that could just be because I am nearby, and I think that helps with FM (large objects that is) any places to start looking, as in ground, etc?

GM manual suggests pulling the antenna cable out of the radio. And plug in a test antenna. Be sure you are away from power liines, big buildings, flourescent lights and power tools. Also ohm the cable from one end to the other. Should be less than 3.5 ohms. The outer shield should measure less than 0.2 ohms.
As far as the vents problem, mine turned out to be a line came off one of actuators. I found it by applying vacuum to the hoses where they plug into the vent position control assembly. Each actuators hose is color coded. Once I found the particular one that would not hold vacuum, I went to find the other end of the hose at the actuator to test the hose for leaks and found it wasn't even connected.

Mine did the same thing.. What I ended up doing is, I removed the lines from the back of the control panel, started my car, and felt for vacuum in the main hose from the engine at the control panel plug... Just put your finger over the hole and you should feel the suction... If you feel vacuum you'll know it's either leaking in the hose to the actuators, the plug itself at the control panel is leaking, or a hose at the actuator has come loose like mentioned above.. If you feel no vacuum, that line is leaking... Since none of the vents work, I'm guessing you have a leak in between the main line at the T you replaced and the control panel plug.

I appreciate it, I haven't had the time to do any troubleshooting since getting back from Iraq, but I have a 96 this weekend (columbus day) so I will have some time off.
