Which Exhaust Will...
...rumble the ground when I drive?
Yeah, I know I can't really do this, but you know what I mean. A year ago at school inside the parking garage, this guy in an LT1 T/A drove by me and his exhaust really "rumbled" the parking garage and had a REALLY deep and mean note to it, I just watched in awe as he drove by.
My Magnaflow is too quiet and I want to upgrade to something that'll do the same thing when I drive by other cars. Any suggestions?

slp loudmouth or gmmg
i have gmmg (havent got it all installed yet) and my buddy has a loudmouth
his loudmouth can set off alarms in the garage (has a real nice deep tone to it)
i would go loudmouth if you're trying to save money, if not, then gmmg all the way imo

Re: Which Exhaust Will...
yea, my buddy has a 6spd and so do i so we can usually shift into a higher gear to get it down to 1000 rpms when we want so we dont attract attention
but if you want a deep exhaust, i guess that's just a risk you have to take

Re: Which Exhaust Will...
One thing that really shakes the ground is BIG Cubic Inches!!! I have only had one Big Block in a car that I actually owned, although I've ridden in a lot of them. A Big Block with the right exhaust ill really rumble the ground, and if you aim your tailpipes at the ground of course it will really make you 'feel' the exhaust as much as hear it... Although personally I think it sounds like crap if you aim the pipes at the ground... My 455 Buick Regal was an '83 and had Ttops, and had a sweet yet simple set of 2" duals with glasspacks. The glasspacks were burnt out and the pipes were probably too small for the 455, but it sure sounded nice. But...
I just installed a LoudMouth system on my '95 LT1 with otherwise stock Y-Pipe and Cat. I Freakin' LOVE it!!!
I've only been driving it a week now. I posted here before buying it though, and I took a poll.

I couldn't be more happy with the LM. I drive my car daily, and I absolutely love it. It's loud enough that if you get on it real hard, it really starts to make music above 3,000 all the way up. It's like it puts you in a trance, and if you were about to lift, you are now unable to before the red line... I have to run it through the gears as often as inanimate objects will allow.
It's NOT for the faint of heart though. I LOVE a great sounding, loud exhaust system. This is perfectly suited to the cars I used to drive... But I broke the chain when I was contemplating a V8 Fiero. I had a 406/700R4 '78 Malibu with Hooker 1-5/8" primary headers with 3" collectors that necked down to 2-1/2" true duals all the way out the back, with 2-1/2" flowmasters on both sides and put it away when I bought a bone stock, 35,000 mile '88 Fiero GT. I was planning on doing a 300hp TPI swap in it when I fell in love with the Z28 I'm driving now.
Even the factory exhaust on the LT1/LS1 cars is respectable considering it's stock, but it was never anything like what I was used to with the Malibu and the cars before it. The LM isn't the same as the Thunder and sharp Crack of the Malibu's exhaust, but it's just as cool in it's own different way, and it actually has a nice backwrap, which the Malibu did not have, something I haven't had since my 1981 Z28.
As for details... I have an M6 car, and if I drive it below 2,000 rpm's I can leave the neighborhood without waking the neighbor's cat, or leave a stoplight next to a cop without catching his attention. If I go above 3,000 rpm's before shifting, I'll catch the attention of the drivers directly surrounding my car. If I shift anywhere above 4,500 rpm's, everyone within a 1/2 mile radius will turn to look and even if they're inside a building and can't see me, they will still know which direction the sound is coming from. Just the way I like it.

Re: Which Exhaust Will...
I just got my GMMG in, and it is beautiful, very deep compared to the other systems I've heard, and loud as well. My vote goes to GMMG
edit: it did set off a car alarm the first day I had it. But since then I havn't parked near any other cars, like usual

Re: Which Exhaust Will...
Headers a 112 LSA cam and an open cut out works great for me! It actually pisses the neighbors off...they yell at me when I drive by and then go and call the cops. i just give em the finger and keep on my merry way.
Re: Which Exhaust Will...
Bottom Line
if you never intend on getting headers and want to save money = LM
if you intend on getting headers and want to drone your brains out = LM
if you intend on getting headers and want gorgeous sound = GMMG
if you never intend on getting headers and want the best sound possible = GMMG

Re: Which Exhaust Will...
Or have the best of both worlds a LM or a chambered muffler. I can change out my resonator for a chambered stick in about 10 minutes .http://www.sweet-thunder.com Mikes real easy to deal with too.
