Exhaust question

Buying a car with the following exhaust:

*PaceSetter Ceramic-Coated Long Tube Headers
*PaceSetter 3" Off-Road Y-Pipe
*SLP 3" Dual/Dual Cat-Back Exhaust System with Cut-Out

If that is too loud and becomes annoying for daily driving, could I exchange just the muffler for something to quiet it up a little or get rid of the whole cat back and get something else (like a Borla-would that be a little quieter for me?). If I swapped out the whole exhaust, should the Headers and Y-Pipe still fit?

Thanks for any help, don't have too much exhaust knowledge.

Re: Exhaust question

You can go with a diffrent muffler like the dynomax ultra flow, or mangnaflow if you can fine one that will fit under the car. Another way to lower the sound is a vortex cone from dynatech which is inserted in the pipe to lower sound db levels.

Re: Exhaust question

that setup seems like it would sound pretty nice to drive to. but yeah a muffler or complete cat back switch would take care of any noise problems.

Re: Exhaust question

If its too loud just put a catalytic converter back on. It will make it quieter and clean up the sound.
