Exhaust Flowmaster or Borla?

Exhaust Flowmaster or Borla?
Okay, i know this is a touchy subject, with a lot of preferences, but i still want some input. I had a 40 series flowmaster on my 1997 F-150 4.6L. And i loved it. Love the flowmaster sound. Does the 80 series flowmaster sound good with camaros? is it simular to the sound you get out of the fords? Or is borla that much better? And ive been looking for good sound clips but its hard to find em with close to a stock set up. So anyone got any good links, much appreciated.

Re: Exhaust Flowmaster or Borla?
ha good call, i need to change that, but it came with an exhaust, and it sounded a bit like my truck did, but it was a mystery exhaust ( the guy i bought it from didnt know what kind it was ether) so i just guessed, but after going to a exhaust shop to look into what type of exhaust to get for my new black one, he told me that my exhaust was definetly not a 80 series, so your right, and i need to change that.

I have a Borla and its been on the car since 1995. Still looks/sounds great..I run it with no plates....They are a bit pricey though. If you want stainless, thats not high $$$, look at the Magnaflow. They sound very nice when cruising and sound even better when you hit it...

Re: Exhaust Flowmaster or Borla?
my flowmaster with a cutout sounds pretty damn good.. but i'd probably go with borla. had a friend with a cammed lt1 TA and that borla sounded good.
flowmaster in my opinion is a cheap exhaust.. when people ask what i have. i hate saying flowmaster. but i have to

For $320 you can get a complete stainless steel Magnaflow catback and install it yourself.
I have heard a few people as of late saying the Magnaflow isn't loud. Mine is.
I would if this is due to the recent design changes it under went?

you could get true duals with 40 series mufflers for the cost of the 80 series catback. The catback sounds good but 40 series would sound better. For 3 flowmaster catbacks you could buy one borla and not be anymore impressed. So it's up to you.

Re: Exhaust Flowmaster or Borla?
If you want to go with stainless (and I definitely would), I think Loudmouth is the best (edit: best balance of sound and price). It's not quite as cheap as some like Magnaflow, but it's cheaper than Borla, Corsa, and GMMG to name a few. I got mine back when it was still $325, but I think the prices have gone up to around $400 or so. I love the sound of mine, never personally herd a better LT1 in person, but I've never heard a true dual setup in person, so... My friend has a '97 WS6 with an 80 series, and the tone is decent, but it's not very loud. Loud was a priority for me, if it's not for you, than maybe the cheapness of the 80 is perfect for you. I had an 80 series on my old V6, and got the muffler for $75, so you'd definitely save going that way...
