Lightbulb Exhaust

I 'm looking for exhaust for my 99 Z-28 and I was wondering what was the best exhaust to go with. I know that the borla is great buts its just to expensive. I was I found a good deal on a SLP loudmouth but none of the disributors at the local performance shop had heard of it. I'm open to opitions I want to spend around 400.

for around $400 you should be able to buy any muffler(s) you want and have an exhaust shop fabricate the pipes for you.

The best way to go IMO because if something rattles etc you can just drive back to the shop and have them fix it.

Plus you get brownie points the more you go there.

I got so popular at my previous shop the last time he charged me only $160 for the ENTIRE setup (mufflers/pipes...header-back) because I had already taken 5 of my cars there.

Not saying you will get it done for $160, ell when I moved here to Houston, it cost me $160 just for the y pipe. Just saying its good to have friends who can weld.

Let me say that again....Its good to have friends who weld.

If your looking for a bolton installation for under $400, look on ebay....I fin the baddest deals on there, you just have to pick what you want, then wait to find a good deal on it on ebay. If you dont win that auction, just wait for another deal similar and try to win that one. Just make sure you bid on sellers that have a good rating (either 95%+ or 1000+ sales and 85-90%+)...I like to look at the stuff they have sold before and if the buyer was satisfied.

I like the flowmaster sound myself, but I think Im going to switch to a louder one and put a bullet in there before the muffler...maybe see how that sounds.

I hear good things about the GMMG....but have never heard it myself (that I know of, anyways...)

For the money and performance..you can't beat it. Do not let a shop put pipes on there from their shop!!! They won't be mandrel bent and you will lose airflow. My 2 cents.

Flowmaster does sound great, and if price is a concern then forget about the gmmg. I just received my cutout and that is loud.

Spintech makes a great muffler as well as a 3-4inch exhaust. I will be putting on today my spintech. I had a Loudmouth, but with my cam and LTs it got to be tooooo much so I bought the SLP center mouted exhaust that came on the 02 SS, now it looks very nice but I don't feel that it flows (muffler) very well. So I did some readind on spintech design and I'm going to replace it, we will see.
