evil keyless entry....

It has stopped working completely.
It was getting worse over time, starting with the trunk not popping, then the range on the doors got worse and worse. Now it dosent do anything.
Yes, i have changed remote batteries, many times.

Any suggestions?

Mine was doing that. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts on the circut board. This lasted about a week and after getting tired of cleaning them once a week, I just bought a new transmitter.

try resetting the computer thing by removing the radio fuse in the upper left corner of the interior fuse box, then turn the key to the on position without turning the car on 3 times, your doors should unlock and your hatch should pop. After that stand by your driver side fender and hold lock and unlock and the horn should sound. If none of that actually works...get a new keychain box...thing. Thats what I had to do Man...my fingers hurt...

I tried it both ways. Looks like i need a remote.
When i hold both buttons for a minute, the doors pop, but only once, and only if i hold both buttons

Just FYI. I think shoeboxes site has a section about reprograming your remote. Wish I knew about that. I paid the dealer to do it.

You can get new remotes on ebay for $15-$20. Then just do a search here for how to program them.

I have that problem every few months or so. Cleaning the contacts works great for me. Use a little alcohol or electrical cleaner and really clean them good. I'm not sure where the greasy substance comes from either maybe it seeps out of the rubber when it gets old. Who knows? Like 99blackSS said you can get them cheap on ebay. You have to program them though. For me the best thing is to clean them. It's free, takes only a couple of minutes, I only have to do it every 4 months or so, and I figure if mine does it they probably all do eventually. Good Luck........Later
