EGR Valve location

I have examined every inch of my 2001 SS and have not been able to locate the egr valve! I have a new valve with a GM part number that is supposed to apply to my SS, but for the life of me, I cannot find the valve....Any suggestions as to the location??

Thanks...

Attached to the front of the RH cylinder head, with pipes going into the base it sits on.

2001 and 2002 F-bodies don't have an EGR valve.
GM went to a tighter lobe spread cam on all LS1's and eliminated it.

Sorry, I was just posting what the parts book said. It has a listing for 98-2002 EGR. Makes me wonder why the OP has a new valve in his hand and looking for a place to install it.
I'm not an LS1 person. I was just trying to help.

I don't think that my LS1 has an EGR vavle either. The EGR valve I bought lists it as a GM part number applicable to my 2001 SS, but I have not been able to locate....

The EGR purchase was to correct an exhaust backfire condition and slight rough idle...I have no diagnostic readings, but have exhaust backfire, mostly during cool weather....Hot weather (I live in Pensacola, FL) has little to no backfiring issues, only when cool while warming up...

Sooo...any suggestions would be extremly appreciated!!

Do you have a way to scan the car to see if anything looks out of spec?
