Re: E-cut out install...

take the car to an exhaust shop, have them weld the cutout into the Ipipe just before it goes over the axle. then bolt the electric plate to the cutout, run the wiring up through one of the grommets on the floor pan in the back seat, or throught he transmission hole. connect the proper wires to 12v and ground and mount the swirch.

i would have the Elect plate withyou for the weld in, just to make sure there is sufficient clearance. there is a "pocket" just before the axle where the unit fits into nicely...as if intended for the cutout

edit:

oops...you already have the cutout...well...hopfully it is in a place that affords enough room.

Re: E-cut out install...

yeah my cut out is in the correct spot already, which is good news. I have seen many locations to mount the switch and I think I am going to use the ash tray or by the steering column. I was wondering if there is a website that sells different styles of switches that I can buy. I know I can pick up some simple switches from work (advance auto parts) but was looking for something that looks a little more OE style. I am assuming that it can hard wire to the battery?

Edit: does the cut out come with a switch?

Re: E-cut out install...

I wired my e-cutout to a stock convert. top switch. The switch is easy to get too, in a stock location, and is a clean OEM looking install.

Where did you guys wire your 12v wire to? Would it work if I tapped into the cigarette lighter wire?

Why does it matter if it is powered after the ignition is off?

How do I wire into the fuse box?

Re: E-cut out install...

you cant have it wired to something that runs after ign. is off because it will drain the battery.

What need to know is how or better yet where is the pink wire for the ASR switch?

Re: E-cut out install...

If you have Traction Control (ASR) pull the radio trim out, it simply pops out (Don't force it)... on the back side of the ASR switch will be a Pink wire, run the cutout power wire from it.
