Dual CAI's?

Some guy on firebirdv6.com made dual cold air intakes, and he says it makes a difference. What do you guys think, is it all in his head? Or is it a worthwhile mod?

I know, the Corvette has them.

Re: Dual CAI's?

it won't make any more diference than a single cold air intake. assuming the size of the intake is sufficient to support the engine's air demand.

i mean of course a dual 2" cai will out perform a single 2" cai

but the 3.5" intake size that is common on the LT1s is about all the engine needs. i suppose a bit can be gained from having 2x the surface area in the filter, to create less restriction. but that will be minimal.

it is in his head

Well, he says he doesn't have a camera, so he can't take pics. But this is what the vette's looks like:

He says it's llike that, but the filters are more out ot the sides.

He had this to say:

"ya i accually can feel more power...It is a lowes 3 inch rummer y fitting and then i drilled my own holes for the sensor and the air pipe to the valve cover...good old ghetto rig but it dosent over heat and works good so i dont see a problem with it".

Buuut, I consider this forum a lot more well knowledged, so I'll take your guys' word for it.

I can't feel the gains of a cold air kit period. So I don't know how he can feel the difference between a single and a dual inlet induction kit.

Re: Dual CAI's?

is he comparing a single cai to a double?

or a stock intake to a double cai??

cause any kind of cai will make a difference over the stock crap that GM puts on the cars
