Driver side brake lights don't work, turn & hazards work fine

Like the title says, the hazards flash on both sides, the turn signal works on both sides. The brakes only work on the center and the passenger side.

What wire controls the brake lights? I can't find a tear or anything.

tell me you checked the bulb already?

shoebox's site should have the wiring diagram you need and you will need a basic test light. With the brakes applied, test the wire for power at a few points along the harness between the fuse box and the tail light.

Could be the brake light switch or a loose connection under the dash.

Not if it's just one side.
Most likely bulb, corrosion in the socket, or corrosion on the connector at the light.

If I read his post correctly, all the bulbs/filaments work with the hazards and turn signal. That would seem to rule out the bulbs and sockets.

You read correctly. The bulbs are fine. I'm just going to wiretap the driver side to the passenger side. Cheap fix.

According to the schematic, the common tie point for the wires is within the turn/hazard switch, so might be something going on there.

You mean the actual control switch on the column? I did wiretap the wires, but the turn signals are really weak but the break lights work now.

My bad! I should have said, it won't be the switch if it's only one side.

Not sure how it could have broke but there is a ground to that system in the back left next to the hatch lock on the inside of the car. If that ground is not good it will cause exactly what you are talking about.
