I'm getting some work done on my car since the opti went out. Anyway I want to know if the price sounds about right. I got the plugs and wires swapped out, new cap and rotor because we didn't expect the entire distributor to be out, new opti from the dealership, new waterpump. All this is costing me about $1300, does this sound like a good deal to you guys?

The price is with labor and everything, not just parts. I just don't want to be getting ripped off and wanted opinions on what you guys paid to have this stuff done. And I know there has to be quite a few of you guys that had to replace these parts!

Re: Does this sound about right?
A guy that lives near me had just his opti replaced.
It was at a local shop, not a dealer.
It ran him about $800.

He had also called the local dealers to get quotes on changing his plugs and wires. The quoted him 8 (or was it 10?) hours of labor plus parts. It came out to like $700.

I'd say you're getting a good deal. A year or so ago I paid over 1000 bucks just to get a waterpump replaced!
