Does running without t-tops really slow you down?

Just wondering about how much drag is caused with the t-tops off the car? Ran a few cars with out the t-tops on the freeway. Just wondering how much it's really slowing me down or is it slowing me down at all?

Thanks guys

Not sure if anyone could actually give you a number for the new "no T-top" drag coefficient, but gut feeling says it has to slow you down somewhat. Does it make a difference in the 1/4...who knows? Interesting for some who's raced same car with and without to report.

I know that quite a lot of air goes in the back with the T-tops off and windows down...heard some backseat passengers complain about it being a tornado back there...but who gives a crap...I ONLY sit in one seat in my car.

Those T tops being out makes the back of your car like a sail. But who cares cause the tops are what makes these cars so coooooool.

Definite resistance at higher speeds.

While on a recent Vegas trip we decided to drive out to Rachel, Nevada (Area 51) on the way there I traveled about 100 miles on an basically uninhabited highway averaging 110ish with the tops off.
On the way back we put 'em on and noticed the car was running at a slightly lower rpm at the same speed and seemed more responsive.

IMO, If I'm on the highway at speed and I let off the gas the car does loose more speed faster (you can watch the speedo) with the tops off, with them on the car is more areodynamic.

I only notice it when I am driving on the highway but my car seems to jump like it is catching air pockets in the hatch, I cant notice any difference in performance at low speeds though.

definately a difference, and infact aroudn 125-130 the back of the car staqrts to get a bit light... i dont notice it much in my car, since the back starts to get light and the damn thing pulls right up to 140 like nothing....
