Does this look right? (waterpump pic) 98Z

I've been slowly losing coolant over time. No white smoke or stuff dripping out of the exhaust. But I noticed coolant on the front of the engine, on the drive belt and various stuff on the front of the engine. I don't see leaks from any hoses so far but look at the picture. Does it seem like the hose pointed to is not completely on the water pump? This may explain my unable to solve squeeky drive belt problem (slippery coolant water on belt).
I'd appreciate any opinions on this, maybe I just need to slide that hose up and if so... Does GM service remove this hose when doing radiator service? If so, this is f'up #3 for them in my book...
I have not got a really good look at the water pump yet, the top looks good, but I'll check out the bottom later today unless someone looks at this pick and says, "Damn right that hose needs to be moved up on the connector!"

Thanks, ran the engine for a while and didn't notice any leak from there anyway or around the waterpump or any hoses. But somehow coolant got on the front of the engine and some of the metal lines/tubes routed around the front of the engine. I almost wonder if the damn thing leaks when it's just sitting around since I gave it some coolant about a month ago and went on vacation for a week, then had the coolant light come on when I drove it when I got back... Ah the fun of owning a an f-body :-).

If you can't find the leak yourself you can take it to a shop and have them put dye in the system, then they shine a special light on everything, that'll pinpoint the leak.

MMm... cleaned everything off and ran the car some more and finally, I found some coolant forming on the underside of the water pump. Can't see the exact source, but it appears to be coming from the front of the pump. I guess I need a new waterpump or do I?
Also if I decide to change the pump, are there other accessories I need to buy? I'm guessing at least a gasket and some gunk.

Ah another coolant leak mystery. See coolant on my AC compressor of all places, at least on the bottom of it. I see some coolant along the left edge of the oil pan too. Having a hell of a time determining the source to see if it's time for another water pump.... The drive belt squeaks occasionally and I suspent coolant of whatever is leaking on that.
Changed the steering rack a couple weeks back but the steering liquid is much thicker than the watery orange stuff I'm seeing here.

It sounds like a bad water pump to me. Usually when the bearing starts to go out coolant will start leaking out of the front, and the pulley will tend to fling it everywhere. If you're seeing coolant in a bunch of different places on the front of the engine I would suspect that first.
Re: Does this look right? (waterpump pic) 98Z
There is a small "weep hole" on the waterpump that leaks coolant when the pump starts to go bad. My '98 Z was doing that on the my original LS1 and the dealer replaced it under the extended warranty I had at the time...
Re: Does this look right? (waterpump pic) 98Z
The coolant I've seen so far seems to be on the right side of the front of the engine primarily, some on the AC compressor, K member, didn't notice any directly below the water pump, but it's a bit hard to see everything without removing crap.

Any idea where this 'weap hole' is on the pump? Ugh, changing the water pump was a PIA last time I did it.
