does anyone know are door lock ***** on 3rd gen and 4th gen TA's the same?

I was putting on my new set of TA door panels i just got, and some how i lost one of the door lock *****. There aren't really any 4th gen birds around here and i don't want to have to pay $15 to get some shipped over here. I was browsing on ebay and i found some for a 3rd gen bird and they look exactly the same. If they are the same it would make it much easier to find a set as 3rd gens are all over salvage yards. Does anyone know? thanks Claude

I had a missing pass lock **** and took one off a late 80's or 90's model Chevrolet at a wrecking yard hoping it would fit... Turned out to be the exact same part as the one on the drivers side in my Camaro... I can't remember what model the car was though, Malibu, Cavalier or something similar... I know the 3rd gens use the same setup with the bent rod that slips into a corresponding hole on the lock ****.

EDIT: Out of curiosity I went out and removed one of my locks to compare to the pic and it appears the 3rd gen locks are a little different style... They look thinner and longer... Check the wrecking yards for one from the cars mentioned above.

Well thanks 94z28 i guess if you found one off another car then that means they probably interchange. I know TA's and firebirds are diff than Camaro's. The Camaros are fatter and won't fit in the hole on the TA and i need TA's as i'm putting on TA door panels. Thats what makes them tough to find. So i guess i'll check the local salvage yard for a 3rd gen TA and hope they interchange.

Ok thanks. I'll look through the salvage yard at some 80's GM stuff and see if i can find anything. I can't believe the Camaro's and TA's are diff. Being a partial Ford man i'm glad to see most GM parts interchange and surprised that other GM parts don't.
