Do you think if we all email Jada Toys, they will make a 1:18 scale 1993-1997 Camaro?

Do you think if we all email Jada Toys, they will make a 1:18 scale 1993-1997 Camaro?

There isn't really a good section on this message board that this topic fits into, but I thought this could be the best location for a topic like this since it is all '93 to '97 discussion. Should be the best location to target the people interested in the idea...

Background: Jada Toys makes a LOT of different Camaro 1:18 scale cars, but no LT1 model. There has never been a 1:18 scale Camaro coupe model made by any manufacturer period. ERTL made 1:18 scale convertible models in the 1990s, and Welly makes 1:18 scale 98+ SS coupe models just for reference.

The idea: If enough of us email customer service with our "product suggestion" maybe Jada will make the model for us. They already have the license from GM to produce all of the other years of Camaros, so certainly this is within their realm of capabilities.

So: If you're interested in helping this cause, please visit http://www.jadatoys.com/support.php?...tact&type=misc type in your email address and send them a message about how much you'd like it if they produced an early 4th gen 1:18 scale model.

Thanks.

And just for reference, here are some sample pictures of models they already make:

I'd love a 97 Camaro coupe, but I don't want Jada to make it. Compared to Ertl and even Welly, Jada models aren't as well done, plus I hate the way they screw them up with Big Wheel fad.

Very true, I don't like the big wheels either, but since they have an active license with GM to produce a lot of different Camaros, I figured they'd be the very best shot we'd have right now.

I'd love a 95....I've also never seen a 1:18 IROC-Z made by anyone either (without the big wheels and they weren't 2-tone)

Make sure to email Jada then. Wheels are easy to change if you have to.

Couldn't Ertl just take the old convertible mold and make a coupe. They did a firebird lt1 coupe.

Hmm, I didn't know about the Firebird. You'd think they could... maybe we should email them as well...

I thought about hacking up a Firebird Coupe and a Z28 convert to make a Z28 coupe, but there is a big difference in the parts, especially the hatch area and the rear end. Plus I just couldn't bring myself to hacking up the Firebird. Here's a pic.

Yeah, I'd imagine they are slightly different if they weren't made from the same basic mold. Good to know that info from you though--that they don't look like they'd just fit perfect.

I have a Camaro LT1 1:18 scale at home. I forget who the manufacturer is but i'll snap a picture when I get home. It's red/black with the t-tops removed.

EDIT: It's a vert, afterall.
