None of us mortals can predict the future. All we can do is use history to give us some guidance as to what could happen. When a car has reached its lowest deprection after about 10-15 years old, then it could become of interest to the collector market rather than the used car market. Most models out there don't interest the collector. However you can look at the models that have historically become collector cars, then you can extrapolate this to estimate if a used car today can become a collector car.

Given that Camaros of the past are of interest to the collector market, it seems reasonable that a newer model Camaro could also become a collector car in the future.

I use to think a lot of 90's cars would be popular 40 years from now. But with all the new fast cars coming out of Detroit, the 90's might just seem like how we feel about the 80's... slow and under-performing. Who knows though. The LT1 has become the bastard child of motors. I think years from now the SS LS1's will value higher, even though they are uglier.

Anyways wasn't the '67 one of the highest selling years?

1967 Production Numbers
Coupe 160,648
Convertible 25,141
Z28 602
RS 64,842
SS 34,411
Pace Car 104

TOTALS = 220,906

1997 Camaro
Coupe SS 2,017
Convertible SS 364

Couldn't agree more...I don't like the way the LS1 cars look. As far as if they are going to be collector items? I'd say so. Maybe not like the first gens are, but to an extent they will be...
