Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
Re: Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
Your car would have to be a "factory freak" but I mean I guess with the right tires and conditions and your rear end would hold it could be done. But to be honest I really don't see it happening. You would need to be a GREAT driver and everything else would have to be perfect. Hope it works out for ya though. Let us know if it does. Best of luck!!

that has like intake and exhaust(?) on it already from the factory
it makes it easier to get those times with that
a stock z28 with stock intake and exhaust...it would definately be hard to do unless given the most ideal conditions
it also depends on what your idea of stock is
i think stock means showroom stock but some people think it can be weight reduced, different tires, etc.
Re: Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
My buddy hit 13.75 @ 98 mph, 2.0 60' time running on BFG DR's with his '97 Z28 M6
. His car is 100% BONE STOCK, with the exception of a B&M "Ripper" shifter. That's it
. Funny thing is, he ran a 13.8x @ 100 mph on another day at the track!?
Oh, and the same day he ran 13.75 is also when I got my best 13.02 @ 107
.
The driving/driver definitely makes a difference though. I thought I could shift pretty quick 'til I was in the car with my friend. Swear to god, this guy can shift faster than an auto!!

Re: Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
I see it as being highly possible given the right car with the right driver.
There were LT1 cars from the factory that didn't have Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirriors, T-Tops, Air Conditioning, etc. If you got a Stripper and you can drive... That time shouldn't be too hard to get.

Re: Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
I could be wrong, but I thought Johnny Huskins(sp?) that used to be with GMHTP magazine ran a 13.6 in a stock auto LT1 Formula or Z. Not 100% sure, but that was a few years ago.

Re: Do you think a 96 Z28 can run 13.6 stock?
Nope, that was the 60' time... I trapped 102.8 on that run...
That was when I still didn't know how to drive the car very well, and launched very poorly, seeing it was the first time I'd ever been down a 1/4 mile track...

My friend's mom has a '94 Camaro Z28, A4 and it ran a 13.6 with street tires on it, completely stock with around 80k miles. I think it was a combo of good driver and good weather.
