Do you have to clear the A/C lines when replacing the compressor?

I'm finally getting around to changing the compressor and accumulator W/oriface filter. Friend told me I should blow the lines out before I put anything new on. Do I need to do this and how do I this? The accumulator and filter are new, but the comp. is a working used part. What are your suggestions?

since you're going to have the three parts you can't flush off, I would flush the rest of the system, spray in a A/C system flush(I use brake clean), then blow out with comressed airblow in all the lines you have disconnected, then you will be sure to blow through everything in both directions

yup, brake cleaner, the aerosol type, it works because it dries leaving no residue
