Do the LS-1's have

the hump on the passenger side like I've been reading about in the LT-1 cars?, do the wives complain about riding in the passenger side?, I've read all about how fast these cars are as drag racers, What I want to know is, do they handle corners, such as in road racing, real good form the factory, like the 69 models did. If I get one I want a road racer.

Yes to the hump on the floor board on the passenger side. as for handling, with a few well chosen aftermarket parts you can handle with the best of them.

Thanks, are the humps that uncomfortable for the passenger, I'd be in a world of $hit if I get one of these cars, and my wife won't ride in it, but then agian that might be a good thing

It's not that uncomfortable, just ackward. You sit so low to the floorboard that your feet are pushed foward.

Re: Do the LS-1's have

Ive never got that floorboard thing at all. Its in my moms 3rd gen to but I dont think its as bad. Whats that for anyways? I almost refuse to ride in the passenger side because of it haha. Also dont you think they could add just a hair bit more room on the floor in the back seats? I know its not a passenger car but it would help a little.

I agree, I've never even driven one myself, but I know if she drove it, she'd like it , she always wanted a mustang, I told her I'm not buying no stinkin ford, if you want one, go get a loan and a job and you buy it, my name is not going on the registratrion for a ford, I know, I know, I already have a ford, I inhereted(sp) that mustang from an elderly cousin that bought it brand new, or I wouldn't own a ford, and I've restored one of my Impala's and she new I would take care of it, and it a nice car and is in very good shape, and as I've told my wife, it is a nice little car and I like to drive it,BUT if it was a Camaro, I could love it as I do my other rigs

My ex-g/f noticed it, but never really complained about it. She was about ~5' 6".

I've also ridden shot-gun in the car (and in my buddy's '96 T/A) and it's not all that bad. Stupid, yes, but it doesn't affect your ride.

It's where the cat goes on some models. For LS1 F-bodies it is a waste and GM was too cheap to remove it.

Re: Do the LS-1's have

WhenI was car shopping and I saw that hump, I thought the car had been in some kind of car accident or ran something over and created that hump. In my opinion, Chevy should have not allowed that ugly hump. My feet feel awckward when I drive in the passenger side.

If it's not being used for any purpace, and if it's under the carpeting, is it possible to bang it out with a hammer, or is so far up in the leg channel that you couldn't get a swing to pound it out. I know that sounds stupid., but hey guys are always pounding on the tranny tunnell.

Re: Do the LS-1's have

Guys, I'm new here so be gentle.

We want to reserve this forum for LS1 Engine tech only. Not a lot that goes on in here but we want general F-body tech posted in that forum and any BS just-wanna-talk-about-something posts (not technically related) to be posted in the Lounge. Those guys love to talk about stuff in there.

Thanks for you cooperation.
