Disabling the automatic locks on a 99 camaro

hey guys, I just installed a remote start system on my car the other day. It also came with a lock and unlock feature, but once I lock my car, you cannot unlock it if the key is not in the ignition. So, being that my car is locked with no key, I cant use the remote to unlock my doors unless I start my car first. Is there any way to disable this "safety" feature? I am guessing GM did this so when you leave your T-tops off someone cant just reach in and press the unlock button. Thanks for any help!

No, my locks have always been that way. If you sit in the car with the key out of the ignition and lock the doors, then when you try and unlock them it wont work. It has always been that way, and I guess they didnt bypass that when they installed it. So does anyone know how to bypass this?
