ding ding

sorry for the stupid title its the only way i could think to start. is there a switch in the door that shuts off the dingiding sound that tells you your key is in the ignition? mine will not shut off unless i turn the key to on. even sometimes with no key in ignition if i turn the wheel to the left it will start dinging. any ideas what could be causing this?

Re: ding ding

rip out the body control module. that will learn that thing to chime!! just kidding. i cant remember if gen 4.0(LT1) f-bodies work this way, but newer GM will allow you to program the BCM with the key fobs to get the door chimes to do what you want. refer to the owners manual. if you dont have one, they can be downloaded off the internet. download one and save it on your computer. let me know if this helps

I dont think the owners manual will tell you, the service manual might :dunno: I've seen an online walk through that tell you how to program different settings of the bcm, but I cant find it. sorry
