most likely the inserts are leather and the bolsters vynal...i work in a leather installation shop and most all our kits are about 30% leather, 70% vynal...IMO, the vynal is better...it wears better...and looks, feels, and even smells the same as actual leather

Real leather in the middle part and vynel everywhere else? Whats the purpose of the real leather if the fake stuff wears better? Does the real stuff just stretch better where you sit or what?

Ya the seats are like half leather, where your butt is and halfway up your back. If I was going for new seat covers I'd go all leather, vinyl gets extremely hot.

My factory 95 Z seats were leather on the front, vinyl on the back. My TA seats i have are vinyl all over except the center inserts and lift up leg support.

actually the leathers does not stretch...thats another beauty of the vynal...but some people are just picky and want actual leather...i have a katzkin kit in my car, with only leather on the inserts (middle part) ...and vynal everywhere else...i like that mix

I think the leather is the entire front of the seat, with the entire back and sides of the buckets vinyl. On the back seat, the bottom cushion that you sit on is leather, the outsides of the cushion are vinyl. The back of the back seat is leather, except for the strip of vinyl between the two seats.

Another fact that effects wear on leather is its quality. Unfortunelty the leather on our seats is not the greatest stuff(I think the leather on the LT1 cars was better than the LS1 cars IMO).
The leather in Jaguars, Benzes, Cadillacs, and Lexuses(Lexi?) is really nice stuff that continues to great for many, many, many years if it is cleaned and conditioned on a regular basis.

I decided to go with all vynel stuff. I felt a sample and it looks very close to leather, feels soft yet strong. I guess alot of people have a misconception that all vynel just feels like plastic.
