demodding car

what is everyones feeling on selling a car and removing all the parts before you let it go. I know it makes more sense to get more of the money back, but in my case i would need to find some stock parts to pyut back in place. what does everyone else normally do>? i am just trying to convince myself it is worth the effort

I KEPT all the stock parts I might replace just for this reason.

Re: demodding car

Depends on the mod. Stuff like rims, CAIs, and nitrous kits are relatively easy to remove as long as you kept the stock parts. Headers, exhaust, and other hard to remove parts are best left alone. Personally, I would leave the car alone and just sell it all or you'll still have the mods laying in your garage a year or two after you sell the car.

Yes, I speak from experience here. Need a stock 2nd gen hood? Or maybe a 4" outlaw fiberglass cowl induction hood for a 2nd gen?

When I sell mine, I'll give whoever the factory air box along with other things but the Borla Exhaust is staying on- I might just throw in an 00 TA Cat back factory exhaust too just to clean out the garage

Re: demodding car

The person that sold my car before I got it did this. When I realized that my WP had begun to leak and I got into the god awful opti/wp swap, I also noticed that he had removed the MSD coil that was in there and replaced it with a stock GM coil that had enough corrosion on it to classify as a scientific experiment in electrical engineering do's and don'ts. If you are going to do this, have some thought for the next f-bud that gets it. How would you feel?

I was p&^&^& off!!

Re: demodding car

I would feel relieved that it's not my headache anymore. Let the next guy learn all about it.
