Thumbs down Dashboard/Windshield reflection!

Does anyone else get a terrible reflection on their windshield of the dashboard when driving on sunny days? Any ideas on how to cut down on it?

Wear some sunglasses.

Keeping a clean windshield inside and out helps cut down on glare. I try to keep my dash constantly covered in Armor All, helps a little bit and also keeps your interior lookin sweeeet.

Hmmmm.....I think that making the dash all shiny with armor all would actually add to the reflection....but I'm not past giving it a try if you say that it helps!

I've found that armor all makes the problem worse in two ways. For one, armor all makes your dash very shiny which, in turn, makes it reflect on the windshield even more. Second, the armor all evaporates if it's warm outside and makes a nasty haze on the inside of your windshield which fogs up really badly and is also very nasty to clean off. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how much of a pain in the butt it is to really clean the inside of a 4th gen windshield.

The owner's manual actually recommends against using ArmorAll or similar products for that reason.

Yeah I used Armor all on my dash and shined it up quite nicely then I went for a drive and it was pretty hard for me to see when it was super-sunny. Live and learn I suppose.

I wear sunglasses when driving and have my contacts in. Otherwise, I'm just wearing my regular glasses, so taking them off gives me other seeing issues to deal with!

Is there any kind of product that you can apply to the dash? It seems like everything the sell is for making stuff shiny. I was hoping that maybe they sold something that would do the opposite?

They make Armor All cleaning wipes. Works well for cleaning, as the name implies, but doesn't leave all the shine.

Try some 303 protectant on it. It cleans, protects, and does not leave a shiny surface. You can get it online at detail sites (google it) or pick some up at the local boat stores.....

That is all I use on any vehicle now.

to Armorall. I remember reading in the past that it actually causes long term damage to plastics, rather than protecting them. I don't use it on anything.

Thanks for all the replies. I will try some of the some soap and water and some of that 303 stuff and see how well they do for me. If I'm still not satisfied, then I might look into the dash cover.
