Dashboard Removal
Dashboard Removal
Is there a good write up somewhere for removing the dashboard? I am also removing the Airbags and HVAC as well. Any information on that would be great too. And yes I tried the search first.
For the dash, you have to be VERY gentle, it cracks easy (guess how I know
). Anyway, first remove the A-pillar trim, as the dash hooks underneath them. Then, VERY gently and slowly lift up on the dash, starting wherever, and wait for it to pop loose. Then just work it all the way off.

Tell me it isnt so! Its just a lift and pull??
The dash pad (large plastic piece between the windshield and dash) is held in by velcro. The dash itself is held with screws though. I removed mine a couple years ago and it's pretty straight forward once you remove the gauges and dash pad. I don't remember exactly where all the screws were but, from what I remember, several were under the dash pad, one down by the kick panels on both sides, and I believe one or two near the console tray/cd holder.
Just start at one end and work your hand underneath. Work slow, I think there are like 4 or 5 velcro spots. Make sure you pull off the A-pillar trim first. It takes a little bit of pressure to pop it loose, since it's not regular velcro.

Yep, just some good ole velcro-like material. Mine actually popped free relatively easy, I was suprised. You'll see what I mean when it comes off.
