cut out

Ok, have to know...I've never heard of an exhaust cut-out until this site...can some please explain what it is, what it does, and how you do it?

It is a Y shaped pipe that goes in your exhaust system.It has a cap held on by 3 wing nuts and you can remove the cap. This bypasses the muffler and allows the exhaust freer flow.

It's an easy 7-10 hp, and if you still have your cats on, it's not insanely loud, and can be kept off all the time (mine stays off) It's cheap ($30 + $40 install) and it will give your car a much better sound (in my opinion).

So for those of you who have a cutout, you've got them installed where, just after the Y-pipe joins together into the intermediate pipe??
