custom steering wheel (airbag light, security light)

1999 camaro (euro). Custom Simoni Racing steering wheel. Both airbag and security lights are on.

How can I fool the system?

I want the passenger airbag to work properly...
I've done it once, but it was Peugeot. Put 2 ohm resistor in the circuit (instead of the airbag). Worked.

Will 2 ohm resistor do, or do I need a different resistance for the resistor?

I've already read similar threads, but didn't quite find what I was looking for.

try the resister, that may or may not fix the security light. If it doesn't, .......pull the bulb in the cluster.

The security light can probably be bypassed with a Resistor that corresponds with which VATS Pellet you have. Theres 15 different ones. You can use a volt meter to figure out what voltage of Resistor you need, or if you don't actually have the Vats key *like me* I found from the dealer what Number pellet I need, and a chart shows what resistance you need.

And if you search for airbag removal it'll bring up a few threads talking about what resistor you need to bypass that. That should take care of both lights

ok. I finally got, what I was looking for

When you pull the airbag put you need 1.6ohm of resistance to fool the computer into thinking the airbag is still there. I used two 3.3ohm resistors in parallel on my 2002.
when I get it fixed, I'll let you know. thanks for help
