Cruise control cable

My cars cruise has been acting funny, like not applying enough throttle to the car to keep up to speed, but when i step on the gas it acts like its trying, but just dosent have enough oomph.

So today i noticed that the cable running from the throttle body down to the cruise module cam untucked and has been against the header, so the plastic is all melted away from an 1 1/2'' section or so.

Could this be my problem?

How difficult is it to replace this cable?

Re: Cruise control cable

I would get it replaced. Water/dirt will get into the line and make it sieze up. Replacing it should be easy, just a pain to get to the cruise module since it under the frame in front of the wheel.
