crank bolt heli coiled and just a tiny bit slanted
crank bolt heli coiled and just a tiny bit slanted
The assembly(balanced) is still on an engine stand , so I screw in the damper bolt to check straightness and it is a tiny bit slanted. This crank has a heli coil due to the damper bolt breaking . I am kind of nervous about this. Anybody want to share their thoughts on this?
Re: crank bolt heli coiled and just a tiny bit slanted
I'd re-drill and re-helicoil it if I were you, making sure it was straight.
Otherwise, you're putting stress on one point of the damper, and that cant be a good thing.

That's exactly right. It MAY survive like that, but with a new engine, I would'nt want the (what if's) running in the back of my head.
