coolant

car just turned 40,000 miles.....when should i change the coolant? and if i do it, what should i change it with? I.E. what type , brand etc. thanks

If you have any doubts, change it......

Use DEXCOOL antifreeze.... Brands?????? You choose... I personally use prestone..

DexCool is suppose to be the 100,000 mile or 5 years antifreeze... But there have been cases of problems waiting that long and even with earlier miles.....

I change mine out every other year, reguardless of mileage....

The color should be orange, if not you might want to flush out the whole system.....
