Converting a '97 front to a '98 front need help!
Hey Experts and All,
Im trying to put a '98 front end on my 97 Z28. Was wondering if there a direct bolt on replacement. What do I need to do the conversion correctly (minus the front end). Also will the lights plug up or will i have to splice. Thanks
Chris
Any input will help.

Re: Converting a '97 front to a '98 front need help!
the lights should plug in, and if im not mistaken its bolt-on for the most part, i think the headlight assemblies may require a little work, but thats goin on a few glances at this topic as i was considering doing it to my firebird after i destroyed it, but then found a Z28 for a good price :-p
far as i remmeber hood fenders and front clip bolt up pretty easy, just dont remmeber if the headlights ona camaro required modification to get the assemblies in or not, but the bulbs will plug right in, the sealed beam and whole assembly use the same bulb which is 9005/9006 hope that helps you out
and anyone please correct me if i'm wrong about any of this!

Thanks, Think tommorow Gonna Order the Fenders,Hood and Bumper on eBay. Surprisingly there pretty cheap on price. Also does anyone know where I can find wheel wells? And if I buy wheel wells will the 97s fit the 98 front clips or what? thanks again
Re: Converting a '97 front to a '98 front need help!
You don't need new wells. You need new fenders, hood, inner reinforcement bar, inner cushion, nose, grill, headlights, foglights (if you want) and headlight brackets. (some aftermarket headlight assemblies don't have them)
The bulbs plug into place, and you have to drill a few holes in the rad support for the brackets.
There are some other small pieces you will need like the inner bar "t" plates, fender brackets, and other assorted items. But, you will need to buy all of the above before you truly get a feel for how it's all put together.

WHats gonna run you money is all the stuff behind the front bumper. You will need the headlight support assemblies and there are a few brackets and other things. Be better off finding an entire clip and pulling the parts yourself so you know where it all goes and have all the hardware.

The inner bar is 80$ at the dealership. (50$ aftermarket) The inner cushion is around 80$ and the 4 clips and "t" plates add another 40$. The headlights at the dealership are 250$ a pop (aftermarket 165$) and the brackets you'll need for them are 17$ a pop.
Grand Total:
Not to mention all the assorted brackets, bolts, and misc parts that you'll need. So as much as I hate to agree with ol' CHERYL there, he's right.
