Convertable top question?

I just picked up a 96 vert. It has a brand new top on it. However I think it might be missing something.
On this guys ebay listing there is a platic cover that goes over everything when the top is down. It's not a huge deal I just think it looks nicer.

Mine doesn't have it, the top is simply exposed. Is this something that cam stock, as an option, or aftermarket? If so point me in the right direction so I know where to get one.

And how do you post attachments?

I'm not 100% certain, but I think they were stock. That's the impression given by reading the owners manual for my '95 at least. Try ebay or the "parts wanted" section on this site and try to score yourself one.

Re: Convertable top question?

The plastic cover your talkin' about came with my car. It's a 3-piece cover that goes over the convertible top when it is lowered. I never see anyone use them though, I only used mine probably 4 times in 6 years.

So I assume its something you store in the trunk and then manually put it on after the top is lowered? I guess it got lost over the years. Lemme know if you find one for sale, thanks

All convertibles came with this 3 piece cover stock from GM. They go for big bucks when you can find them.

I posted this in another forum, but I guess it belongs here. My top doesn't seat all the way down. It seems to hit on the seatbelt mounts at the top of the seat. Is there a way to adjust this so it can go all the way down? I can get some better pics up if they're needed. But this link shows the top down. Scroll down and you will see it in the thread.

Fold the back seats down and try to put the top all the way down. I think the seat belt loops on a vert are more to the side, if yours are'nt maybe they were changed out some where along the line. The tonneau covers are sometimes available on e-bay. I think they make a world of difference in the way the car looks. It's a much cleaner look. There are three peices and a bag to store them all in, I got very lucky and won a set on e-bay for $56.00. Hope this helps

Yeah you did! I watched 5-6 sets with the bag do $210+

Then I realized mine already had the 3 plastic pieces but no bag. Who cares about the bag anyway? Where are you taking it? Hahaha

I had to trim back the interior panels to allow the top to seat
lower in the well.
I still have them but when I first got my car I air chiseled
off the seatbelt towers and removed the rear seatbelts for better rear vision.

I've never had anyone sit in the back over the years.
