I just bought a 96 Camaro (3.8 M5) with a missing console. I do have the trim piece that goes around the shifter. Can I use an auto trans console?

There are two parts to the console: The upper part that goes around the shifter itself, and the lower part that includes the cargo area, the cup holder, etc. The bottom pieces are all the same for cars 93-96, so if you have that top piece, any bottom piece, regardless of trans type, will work.
