Compressor hookup related (not car)
I'm trying to hook up a 220v comprssor up to my garage and i'm wondering how to get the power to it. I know homes use 110v other then dryers(or washer) that use the 220v.
I saw something on ebay from england that converts 110 to 220. But i'm not sure how the regular 110v wiring would be effect.
Any suggestions on how to get power into the garage?

Re: Compressor hookup related (not car)
just call an electrition. You have to fun like two sets of romex wiers from the breaker box to there the outlet is going to go or something like that. All I know is when it comes to elecricity and I don't know what I'm doing I'll call some one and have them come put it in. I'd rather be alive to enjoy what I'm trying to be power to.

Your circuit breaker box has 220V inside. 220V uses 2 hot leads (110V each but used out of phase to give you 220V across them) a return wire and sometimes a ground wire. Best thing to do is have an electrician run you a 220V feed and junction box over to where you want your compressor.

If you don't know what you are doing this is the best thing to do. Call an electrician. Also have him wire up a plug so you can unplug it and move it instead of hardwiring it. You will be glad you did.
