Clicking noise.....

Ok.... this car just keeps finding new problems, everytime I get one fixed... Here is the deal, its my 96 Z28. It has 2 inch lowering springs on it with OEM shocks and struts.
When I first lowered it there was a bad clicking noise from the front left... turned out the rubber in the bearing plate seperated. I replaced it.... No more problem.
Then when the water pump went out.... the car sat on a lift for about 30days with the wheels on it, just hanging. Went to take it for a drive.... clicking was back... removed the bearing plate.... shot again... replaced it... no more problems.
Now, I just got the gears done in it. Only took a few hours, no prolonged time in the air. But today it rained, and I am getting a squeeking noise... same area... not the same "clicking" it did b4, but worried it will progress to that... did I forget to do something when I lowered it... should I have changed something else???? It squeeked like this b4 once... when it rained, and a can of lithium greese took care of it.... any help would be GREATLY appreciated....
THANKYOU....

Re: Clicking noise.....

Well from my understanding, stock shocks dont mix well with lowering springs. Something about wearing the shocks out alot quicker. As for the squeeking, does it do it when you turn your wheels. Could it be the brakes, wheel bearings. I have a squeek in my drivers side wheel well when i turn my wheel to the left slightly. Im not sure what it is though.

I guess I should have been more clear on WHEN it makes the noise.... It is when the suspension loads and unloads.... I can feel it driving down the raod, when ever I hit bumps, and the car bounces, or simply if I push down, on the front left fender and bounce the car, It only ever happens in the front left.

Re: Clicking noise.....

i would try checking the brakes....see if the rotor lips r building up rust, they could be rubbing up agianst the pad.....inner and outer....get rid of that rust and add some brake lube.....that is wat i am doing actually as we speak....... just simple stuff but it can sound terrible..... just somethin to check but prolly isnt why

Re: Clicking noise.....

not the brakes, checked, and cleaned, actually have some new baer rotors coming, so thats out. It really sounds like the upper bearing plate, wanting to break again....

Re: Clicking noise.....

It squeeks only when its wet? ya got urithane suspension bushings or rubber?

FWIW: When I replaced my sway bar on my Jeep I used urithane and greased it before install but after a few hundred miles and hard rains I guess it washed the grease away and it squeeked when the suspension moved.
