How do you guys pull this off? Do I just hire a contortionist? No matter how I bend myself in that car, I can never seem to get more than a couple streaks in the car, and massive pains in my shoulders from twisting around so much. Is there some magic secret that I'm missing here?

 

I do it from outside the car with the door open on my knees on the ground reaching up into the car.

 

secrets?......get your wife or girlfriend to do it?..........it is a pain in the meat but i get er done from the inside. takes a little patience

 

I seem to remember someone posting long ago that they used a wooden spoon with a towel wrapped around it to get to the bottom part...my solution is I just don't clean it

You could try the old detailers trick of using wadded up black print news paper. It won't help you get in there but it offers more control.

 

Use the cloth/rag/papertowel/whatever with the BACK of your hand ... then there's no need to bend around backwards to get your arm in there . Yeah, it's a P.I.T.A., but it's do-able .

 

Hmmm....never occured to me to do it that way, lol. I'll be going through the car again early this week, I'll give the different methods a shot then.

 

Not cleaning it is NOT an option any more. There's so much crap on that glass that it glares BADLY at night, and during really sunny days (ahhh....the joy of living in Arizona). There's been dozens of times now that I get to just guess where the front of the car is when pulling into parking spots.

 

I use something called a glass cleaning wand. I bought it at Murray's for about $20.You can do a Google search and probably find it.The best glass cleaner I found is "Invisible Glass".

 

I use the wife's swiffer duster wand with a new pad. Its got a pivotal end which makes getting the angle of the windshield pretty easy and seems to clean real well with no chemicals.

Look for a product called "Glass Wizard". If you have Big Lots in your area, check there.
