This question is for an LS1 but probably not LS1 specific.
Can I have my intake manifold and valve covers chromed?
Would it hurt or help to chrome my LT's?
just talking to a friend and did not know if it could be done?

Intake Manifold- yes it can be done, but you should expect to pay a premium over what you would've paid to have an aluminum intake done because the process is more difficult to get optimum results on plastic.

Valve covers- yes

Longtubes- not advisable, since the high temps that headers see and the effects of outgassing really shorten the life of a plate job. Not to mention the heat will turn the chrome colors, and polishing them to get them "clean" again will just put more wear and tear on the chrome.

Either save up for a 304 stainless set of headers that can be polished to look just like chrome, or take the quick and easy route and get them ceramic coated. (Which will suffer the same fate as chrome eventually but doesn't discolor.)
