I guess on a 69 Camaro, the factory paint might be a little weary.

Did you buy your car new or are you second (or third) owner?

Tree sap will eat through clearcoat...I've seen it time and time again. What starts as small spot will grow larger and larger as more clearcoat peels off. Hitting the spot with the car wash pressure just sped up the process. Sorry, but leaving the tree sap on the car was a big no-no.

it was on there for an hour tops. thats the thing i wanted to get it off before it did damage.. i am second owner but it is factory paint and primer. no big deal really going to paint the rear panel soon just makes me kind of mad. 80 bucks to paint the rear quarter panel it sure is nice to have a buddy in paint...

We have a carwash around here that has ridiculous amounts of pressure, my buddy has an 03 cobra and while he was pressure spraying, it literally took multiple 2+" chunks of his paint off, I went a few weeks later and it took about an inch sized chunk of paint off my car as well

Nah, then if it was only on an hour, then the sap probably wasn't the problem. I'd say sap has to be on there more like a week to do actual damage.

I think your problem is unique. Perhaps it had been bumbed at one time?
