Cheap Ebay window motors, anyone using these ?

Need to replace my passenger side window motor. Looked at Ebay and found new window motors between $14.95 - $19.95. In the ad it states made overseas and to use only as a temporary fix.

Has anyone had luck with these motors ? Or should I just buy a good quality one ?

Thanks

You are probably better off buying a better quality one. I just got one last week & while it hasnt showed me any reason to be doubtful, I feel like someting that is too good to be true probably isn't true . I got mine from seller ID "am-autoparts" While it doesnt say anythign about being temporary they do state there is no warranty expressed or implied which is almost the same thing I did get it from them right away though. I went the low budget on this one since I'm only using the car for the summer & then stripping it down for a race car build.

There are also some F-body salvage places selling used ones for around the same price or a little more..

I put one in our '97 Firebird on the passenger side a few months ago and it is still working good.

I bought one off ebay but isn't one of those, in fact it was a new GM one. I'd stay away from those cheap ones, don't want to be stuck with your window rolled down.

Why buy something that is a 'temporary fix' only to have to replace it again soon? Only do it once and get the good one. You get what you pay for remember?

I would get a good one, someone a;ready mentioned getting stuck with the window down, that sucks, even more if you park your car outside.

I have an ebay window motor on my passenger side... It's been in for a year and I haven't had any problems with it... I put a lifetime warranty window motor from Advance on the drivers side and it's more powerful than the ebay motor... That's my experience.
