Changing headlights

One of my headlights went out but I'm difficulties reinstalling the bottom spring that levels the headlight. I've already damaged two springs and it getting frustating. Can someone share some insight to accomplish this task easier. Thanks

Re: Changing headlights

I never heard of springs that adjusted or aimed the headlights on LT1 cars... unless you're in a firebird that is...

Re: Changing headlights

If you look closely under the main headlights you will see the spring that attaches to the light frame. Someone in here knows something......please.

Re: Changing headlights

I don't remember having to mess with any spring to change the headlight on my Camaro. Maybe a Firebird is different. You don't say what you have. Maybe someone else will know something.

Re: Changing headlights

Sounds to me like you unscrewed the adjusting screw instead of the screw that holds the mounting plate in place. The only thing I can tell you is you're gonna have to fight it to get the spring compressed while screwing the screw in. Lesson hard learned.
