I don't know too much about older Mustangs, but I don't think they are very fast. You should be able to get him.

Also, you have 180 Degree thermostat listed as a mod - 180 degrees is the stock thermostat.

This is gonna get moved...

Whats he have as far as suspension and tires go?

If its stock and hes on a thinner street tire, you'll get him pretty good.

according to this listing the car has either 250hp or 300hp in factory form.

assuming it is not modified significantly...ie internally...i don't think you'll have much problem with him.

the stang should weigh significantly more than your fbody and you should have several other modern advantages.

make sure you can hook and you should be fine

if he's modified internally...all bets are off. it could easily be a 450+ hp motor

Eh, I say you will beat him if hes stock, of course my opinion is biased, I hate old cars for modern racing, everyone thinks they have 500hp stock and run 5's.

like everyone else says, you will beat him unless he has done alot to that motor.

You will crush him unless he's done alot of work. They were mid 16 sec cars stock.

yeah, i thought i should take him he just put craiger ss rims on it and the backs are real wide tires almost as wide as a slick so he wont have no problem with hooking up. he doesnt even spin them .. it will be a good race i read they ran 13.8 stock with the 351w which worried me after i read it. then i decided to post and see what everyone thought. Btw his suspension i rebuilt the whole front end upper lower control arms and tie rods kyb shocks and 1 inch lowering springs so his suspension is set up pretty nice

38 years down the road, every system on that car has been rebuilt at least a couple of times, or it was stored for a lotta years. I dig the old sheetmetal as much as anyone but the powertrains just were'nt as efficient as what is now available. There were hassles with insurance companies then too, so engines were rated at lower that optimum rpm's for horsepower. If he has a stock rebuilt drivetrain, no cam, gears, etc, it is a 15 second car for a small block.
Now go clean that Mustangs clock.

I thought the same thing, but if you check out Shoe Box's site it says it's a 180. Maybe 93's were different.
