car got t-boned today... any ideas on damage?

My car got t-bones earlier today, was the toher guys fault. He jsut straight up rammed right into me while making a left turn and i was going stright. Anyways, my drives door has the bottom and right side all cracked up, and the rear quart from inside to door jam to the gas door all smashed in.

So what do you guys think his insurance agency is looking at for the rear quarter to be replaced.... then add on the door, gas door, and rim and center cap.

Someone backed into my car while it was parked a couple months ago the costs to replace the driver's side door skin, mirror assembly and rear bumper along with all the required paint work was about $3600 Canadian total at the local GM dealer

Does that help? Probably not, but I thought I'd share. Best bet get some estimates done.

theres no rame damage b/c it just pushed in and was up high enough so taht it wouldn't affect it structurally, i'll try and get a picture of it up sometime soon.

I figured a new quarter would run me about 5-600 but i have another camaro that i can cut the quarter off and keep some of the insurance companies money. the door i can get for 100 and teh rim another 100, but i dont know what kinda shape the inner qaurter panel is.

Goodluck on that project. I would say that more than likely you're car will be totaled out.

I would say that is a possibility. It depends on the book value of your car and how big the damage estimate turns out to be.

Re: car got t-boned today... any ideas on damage?

well i talked to my insurance comapny yesterday and they said that if i want the car fixed, then they will make the other company pay for it. I though at first it would be totalled out, but considering i avhe 3 k in the suspension, another thousand in brakes, 2k for my new engine i put in, and 600 for the new rear bumper i put on... all in all it would cost the insurance company alot more to total it than to just fix it.

After looking through a couple crash guides i figured part would be 1500-2000 and labor another 2-3 thousand. so we'll see what they say on monday...

Unless you can prove the worth of all the add-ons to the car, the insurance companies don't usually care much.

most of the part are brand new with less than a eyar on them, so i tihnk that if i showed them the receipts they would care.

If the damage is more than 80% of the value, they usually total it. Since it's a 94 they'll right it up for used parts.

if you didn't get your car appraised with the parts on them the insurance company typically won't be fair with you
