Can I rebuilt alternator myself?

The bearing on my alternator is worn out. I found alternator bearing in store for like 10 bucks, is this something I can do myself.

Not too sure about the bearings, but I've replace the electronic guts in alternators a half dozen times. I'd tend to say yes you should be able to handle it.

They're very simple once you get them apart.

yes you can, just have to make sure you put back together the right way and when joining the two halves that you have pins inserted to hold brushes in place

Depends on what alternator you have. The older SI alternators are easy to take apart and rebuild. The newer CS style alternators are harder to take apart because they need to be unsoldered to split the halves.
